Spring 2018. Nantou. Flavored milk oolong tea.
This is a flavored Jin-Xuan tea from Zhu Shan in the Nantou county tea district.
When Jin-Xuan tea leaves are lightly roasted during processing, they have a unique milk flavor which is called nai xiang or milk oolong.
Zhu Shan Jin Xuan is flavored with a natural soy-based flavoring which gives this tea a more pronounced, pleasing milk flavor than occurs with roasting alone.

Here are some guidelines for brewing Zhu Shan oolong tea. These are meant as a starting point only. Please adjust to suit your individual preferences.
- Brewing vessel: 150cc (5 US fluid ounces)
- 6 grams of tea leaves
- Water temperature: 85 - 90 C (185 - 195 F)
- Infusion durations: 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, and 4 minutes
The taste of the brewed tea is affected by the water quality, water temperature, amount of tea leaves, type of brewing vessel and the duration of each infusion.
