Fushoushan Oolong Tea

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

This tea is exquisite! The aroma is amazing with sweet floral and cherimoya notes. The taste is sweet, nutty with a roasted corn flavor. Tea broth color is pale yellow. Mouthfeel is clean, delicate and smooth. This tea can go for three plus infusions. It has a long sweet lingering aftertaste which I really liked. Sensation is relaxing and warming. This is my favorite tea now. ...

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

Since I started sampling Taiwan high mountain oolong tea 18 years ago, Fushoushan Oolong Tea has been my most favorite. I love its scent which is the mixture of fruity and weak grassy aroma and its mellow after taste.

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

Opening the bag, I was impressed with the unusual complexity of the dry tea's aroma: strong and fresh, more fruity than floral.

I've brewed this in a 120cc gaiwan and in a 100cc Yixing teapot(using 6 grams of tea in both cases)as well as in a 60cc Yixing teapot(using 10 grams of tea and using an aroma cup).

The durations of the infusions were '30, '45, 1'15, 2'00, and 3'00 with water at just under 190F (around 85-87C).

In all styles of brewing, this tea was/is as good as the best of any lightly-oxidized Taiwanese oolong I've ever had: the aroma cup method especially brought out fruit/caramel notes, though in the less-saturated (gaiwan and 100cc teapot) modalities it was also impressive for its long-lasting taste and aroma.

This is a tea that merits respect. My only concern is that it is so "forgiving" that it's easy to overbrew, so I'd caution care to avoid too-high temperatures (a slight astringency creeps in at more than 190F, I learned the hard way).

The price is excellent compared to other Taiwanese teas of similar quality....

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

Fushoushan Oolong Tea

This tea is one of the top ranked tea in Taiwan. It has lingering aftertaste for hours. However, it takes a relatively longer time in dipping to make sure the flavor is fully released. Similar to wine tasting, Spring tea is good for aroma, but winter tea is good for lingering after taste. This is one of the best tea I have tasted.

This is an excellent milk oolong tea. It is incredibly smooth, creamy, and a little nutty. The finish was very clean. I'm surprised it has not received more reviews, and will definitely purchase again. Highly recommended!...

Tea Tasting Set

Tea Tasting Set

This is an excellent (large size) tea cup. It allows the true color of the tea to express itself, and has a nice lip for sipping. I don't use the sifting cup now, but may in the future. The cup is sometimes commandeered by my wife to use as a small bowl for food, because of it's beautiful simplicity. Thankfully I have two, and may order more....

Wu Ling Oolong Tea

Wu Ling Oolong Tea

While not this exact Wu Ling, it was a Wu Ling oolong that got me interested in tea. While not exactly the same, this one has plenty of the same qualities and is just as refreshing as that original tea I fell for. I can't put into words how happy I am to be able to enjoy my original without having to fly to Taiwan. This is a hard tea to find, and I am so happy to have it. If you're wondering about whether you'll like it, the question is simple, "Do you like Taiwanese oolong?" If yes, you'll love it's smooth, vaguely alpine flavor. If you don't know, you owe it to yourself to try it. It started a now lifelong love for me, and it likely will for you too....

Zisha Modern

Zisha Modern

My third and, for now, favorite teapot from Tea From Taiwan. It is by far the easiest to pour (straight out the spout without spilling) and to clean (dries fastest). Its flat shape and short spout makes easy to take places. The handle is very nice to hold. I tried filling it with water, placing the lid, plugging the spout with my finger and turning it upside-down -- the lid won't fall out. All in all, an attractive and practical teapot at a very reasonable price. Thanks, Ross!...

Da Yu Ling is exceptionally good. I drink this tea more than 5 years, and must note that this year is the best. Good time to try if you unsure. Normally I use yixing teapot and about 90C water for the first brew. The taste is very reach and evolves from cup to cup....

Four Season Oolong Tea

Four Season Oolong Tea

This is my second review. Best value for the price. Taste of this tea is quite rich; the flavor is also good during first two infusions. Then both fade a bit faster than for the more expensive teas. But if you find a correct water temperature, first infusions would give you similar impressions as more advanced Taiwan teas.

Since this tea is popular for beginners, I repeat once more a basic thing -- store oolong teas in a fridge before opened (not necessarily in a deep freeze)....

Tan Pei Oolong Tea

Tan Pei Oolong Tea

This tea was absolutely wonderful, though I'll say that it's something to experience periodically rather than have regularly. It's something of a bracing tea, the word I would use is "musty," but not in a bad way, more like an old book or preserved castle. Its flavor progressed wildly through the steeps, and I managed to get twelve delicious steeps out of it, each different from the last. Go for this one, it's very worth it....

Four Season Oolong Tea

Four Season Oolong Tea

This is the tea that started it all! I received 4 seasons from some friends from China 3 years ago. It quickly became my favorite tea. Once I ran out, I had to find someone to translate the writing on the package so I could learn what kind of tea it was. This began my journey into the world of Taiwanese Oolongs - the best teas on Earth. This is the tea that taught me how to appreciate things like texture & aftertaste apart from the initial flavor. Since this tea was my introduction, it will always hold a special place in my heart....

Although this is one of my favorite teas, I was disappointed with this order of Shan Ling Xi Oolong Tea. Jin Xuan Sample Pack

Jin Xuan Sample Pack

i'm very happy about my decision to order this sample pack! it opened indeed a new "tea-world" for me. i'm a lover of milk oolong, i had already bought it here in expensive tea shops, but was unsatisfied about its artificial taste (it was sold as "all natural" but smelled like powdered milk...). the first sip of your jin xuan showed me pure and simple what a real milk oolong is, and i will never go back to expensive but low quality adultered teas. the sample pack gives you a convenient and smart chance to choose the quality you prefere before to buy the big pack, and i enjoyed my time comparing 3 qualities as a professional tea-taster :) i re-ordered 2 of the 3 qualities out of my complete satisfaction. ...

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

this is the last quality i tasted out of my beloved jin xuan sample pack. it is a great quality tea, like his 2 "brothers" (zhu shan & tai xing). beautiful-looking whole leaves, a delicate aroma and a pale beautiful liquor. i noticed the peachy (fruity) note more than in tai xing, that had instead a predominant, wonderful herbal taste. when re-ordering, i chose zhu-shan and tai-xing because i'm a lover of herbal notes; i think that rui-feng can be the perfect choice for those who look for fruity notes and a more delicate oolong (this is obviously only my personal opinion!). i used a 50 ml gaiwan and very short steepings (30 sec, max 1 min) to avoid any bitterness, but i suppose everyone has his personal preferences in steeping lenght. the leaves were still in good shape at 6th steeping: i consider this factor pretty important because in my country (italy) i've never bought a tea so whole and carefully harvested as the 3 jin-xuan qualities from teafromtaiwan. i warmly thank you for this experience!...

Tsuei Luan Oolong Tea

Tsuei Luan Oolong Tea

Tsuei Luan is my best quality/price on TeaFromTaiwan. It is a sweet and flowery tea, that can be brewed several times with the gong fu cha method. Indeed,it is less powerful than my other favorites such as Li Shan Cui Feng or Wu Ling, but it is nearly half the price, and it is a hi-altitude Li Shan tea. Compared to 4 Seasons Oolong, it is much better : more complex aroma, more taste, and it can be brewed more times, all that for an only 50% higher price. Besides, this is important to me - and it should be important to anyone who takes care of one's health -, it is grown without pesticide. I have made it my daily tea, while I keep more expensive teas for occasional usage, especially when I want to change for a more powerful tea. In conclusion, highly recommended for people who love low-oxidized oolong teas....

Tai Xing Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Tai Xing Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

this is the 2nd jin xuan sample i tasted, after zhu shan jin xuan. in my opinion, this is a great oolong tea, with an elegant taste and the milky note is obviously more delicate than in zhu shan because this one is unflavoured. indeed, the milky note didn't faded after the first steepings (as i noticed in the flavoured quality) but remained unaltered. i loved particularly the first and second cup (30 sec steeping)and i noticed an intense honey and flowery taste, together with a herbal note that faded in the following steepings. i used the leaves 5 times and the tea was still superb. whole branchlets with good looking dark green aromatic leaves. i tried also a 1 minute steeping but it was too much for my taste and it felt slightly bitter. in my opinion, this is a delicate wonderful tea, that gives its best in a very short steeping time....

Da Yu Ling Oolong Tea

Da Yu Ling Oolong Tea

I had to get a 7g sample to try this well known tea of Taiwan.

Dong Ding Ming Xiang Oolong Tea

Dong Ding Ming Xiang Oolong Tea

Another of my favorite, this tea is special and you know it the moment when you open the tea package.
It is heavier and more mature than the rest of the teas out there.
When brewed, even its colors is more brown, golden and darker than the rest.

Like biting into a ripe and juicy fruit in mid-summer, this is what it reminds me of when drinking Dong Dong Ming Xiang.
Embarking on an adventure with this tea is like swimming in a golden field of honey and heavenly flowers.

Treat yourself well and give this golden drink a try....

Tai Xing Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Tai Xing Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

I like the Rui-Feng slightly better than the Tai Xing just because I like peachy flavors better than honey flavors.

It is sweet, rich, creamy and delicious!...

Wu Ling Oolong Tea

Wu Ling Oolong Tea

I bought a 7g sample pack and I had no idea that this was a luxurious tea that I was drinking!
The consistency between smell and taste found in tea is quite rare. Usually when brewed, there are discrepancies.
The smell and the taste matches nearly perfectly with sweet floral tones that seeps into the walls of your mouth.
A delight for your taste buds and your nose!...

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

This is my favorite of the 3 milk oolongs. The smell is mature and penetrating with heavier floral scents.
The taste is quite fruity and peachy.
It is very uplifting and keeps me focused.
Taixing has more honey-like qualities if that is what you're after.
I like peachiness better....

Four Season Oolong Tea

Four Season Oolong Tea

The dried tea leaves smells pretty average and slightly drying in nature.
When brewed, the flavor is really balanced and smooth fruitiness.

Give it a try and you'll for sure to enjoy it...

Zhu Shan Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Zhu Shan Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

i was used to the only available here milky oolong, which was too heavily flavoured, so this tea was to me a surprise! in my opinion, first steeping (30 sec) was the best. the taste was delicate but very interesting, with a note of cream and something that reminded me of honey and tobacco. i noticed also very good the taste of a great oolong tea itself, that wasn't covered by the flavour (as happened in the milky oolong i used to drink). second steeping i made a mistake and steeped too long (more than 1 min. i'm afraid it was too much for the freshly opened leaves) so for my taste the tea was too bitter to be at its best. 3rd and 4th steepings (each one 1 min, but a good hour after the first steeping) were also satisfying, with the creamy taste slowly fading and the pleasant main taste of tea prevailing. honestly i think it could be used for at least 2 steepings more. wet leaves are whole, with many intact branchlets of leaves, very beautiful to be seen and sign of a carefully harvested tea. i look forward to taste the other 2 jin xuan samples to compare them with this first one....

My first purchase from Tea From Taiwan. I was guided by the previous comments and, upon tasting the tea, can say they are very precise - floral, very fresh taste; very lightly fermented leaves; its flavor is incredibly steady surviving numerous brews that keep this delightful greenish coloring, without turning yellowish that in many Oolongs indicate flavor change. I will continue tasting other samples but Wu Ling has won my heart forever!...

This wulong is excellent!!! It has the floral smell of jasmine and carnation. It has a sweet and buttery hints behind a light astringency. I steep until I get rich folks color at 83°C . I get three good cups... Tasty starts to wane after four or so. Definitely a great buy. gi Germantown, MD....

Zhong Shu Hu Oolong Tea

Zhong Shu Hu Oolong Tea

[Tea Provided for Review]

I loved this tea. It is quite an elusive tea to describe, while it has these wonderful floral elements, it also has some slight roasted ones as well. I was quite shocked to find out it was an AliShan tea, as I was drinking it I could have sworn I was drinking a LiShan

Another delicious floral oolong. This has an incredible mouthfeel and is quite complex. It changes quite a bit in later steepings.

Ali Shan Black Tea

Ali Shan Black Tea

(Tea Provided For Review)

I don't regularly drink black teas, but god this is good. I could taste tons of cinnamon and malty notes as well as honey undertones. While this tea has not convinced me to convert from floral oolongs I love drinking it. Like the description says it has no astringency and incredibly smooth....

Da Yu Ling Oolong Tea

Da Yu Ling Oolong Tea

To start off I must mention how potent this tea is, I am no stranger to DaYuLings, but this feels much stronger than what I am used to. I used the entirety of my seven gram sample in my 100ml teapot brewed with water at 190 degrees and let it steep for one minute. If I were to brew this again I'd cut the amount of leaves and how long I brewed this tea for in half.

Regardless this is a very nice tea, a little more minerally than many I have, but well worth the price. It has a rather thick mouthfeel. I was surprised this was harvest in october 2014, it feels very much like a winter oolong....

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Excellent and reasonably priced milk oolong. Along with the Four Seasons (from Tea From Taiwan also), the Rui Feng is my go-to everyday oolong - without compromise! The aroma is light and pleasant and the soup is robust and complex but retaining a light mouthfeel. The creamy notes blend very well into the other, more vegetal aspects, and the aftertaste is lingering and very pleasant. I'd recommend the Rui Feng to anyone even remotely interested in top-quality tea......

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

Rui Feng Jin Xuan Milk Oolong Tea

This tea is exceptional.
Notice that this may not be fully appreciated by someone that does not know green and oolong tea well, because of its very complex taste. If you follow the chinese way of making tea (80 degrees water, a couple of minutes infusion) you can use the tea many times, and each it has a slightly different flavour (it becomes more sweet and i feel more the "milky" flavour after the 2nd or 3rd infusion).
It is really a special tea, i have ordered it twice already....

Long Feng Xia Oolong Tea

Long Feng Xia Oolong Tea

I really enjoy this tea.Taste is subjective and many people means many different tastes.
This is a clean bright tea and nicely sweet.
The leaves are top of plant and no brown spots visible once they unfold.

expensive though....

Chong Pei Sample Pack

Chong Pei Sample Pack

A great sampler. The Wu Ling is a perfect accompaniment to fish and rice dishes, very light and floral. The Shi Zuo was very standard, Very basic and to the point. The Zhong Shu Hu is probably the best choice for an everyday sipping tea. Its flavor was strong but inoffensive. The GABA tea was surprising. While its health claims are bunk (GABA can't cross the blood-brain barrier), the tea itself was a total treat. It was so oxidized that it was more of a refreshing black tea (红茶). Also has a lot of caffeine. The Dong Ding was what I came to this site to order, and it was impressive. It was a darker oolong with a rich honey flavor just as advertised. This sampler was with every penny....

Wu Ling Oolong Tea

Wu Ling Oolong Tea

WOW !!! This one of the best oolong I've had so far. The taste and aroma is very harmonious. My impression after the second steeping is fruity, creamy, flowery with a very nice flower clean and fresh aroma that remains in the mouth for quite sometime.
I really love this tea !!! Thank you to Tea From Taiwan for spoiling our palate with this very premium quality oolong ;)...

Four Season Oolong Tea

Four Season Oolong Tea

My favorite jade oolong. I have about six different jade oolongs in my shelf and this is my favorite one of all! This Four Seasons Oolong is incredibly sweet, almost like smelling a freshly cooked batch of cookies (a little weird to say about tea - but that is what I felt at the time of smelling the aroma).

GREAT TEA INDEED!...
