This is also known as Oriental Beauty oolong tea. This is one of the most famous teas of Taiwan. It is produced in the northern county of Hsin-Zhu and is more oxidized than any of our other teas. It has a fruity aroma with a sweet, honey-like flavour.
This tea is as beautiful to look at as it is wonderful to drink. The leaves have delicate white tips which are the buds of new leaves that are picked along with the top two leaves.
The fairly high level of oxidation gives Bai Hao tea an interesting mixture of the qualities of oolong and black tea. It requires a longer brewing time than most of our other teas - 2 or 3 minutes is recommended, and the leaves can be steeped several times.
