Summer 2012

This is also known as Oriental Beauty oolong tea. This is one of the most famous teas of Taiwan. It is produced in the northern county of Hsin-Zhu and is more oxidized than any of our other teas. It has a fruity aroma with a sweet, honey-like flavour.

This tea is as beautiful to look at as it is wonderful to drink. The leaves have delicate white tips which are the buds of new leaves that are picked along with the top two leaves.

The fairly high level of oxidation gives Bai Hao tea an interesting mixture of the qualities of oolong and black tea. It requires a longer brewing time than most of our other teas - 2 or 3 minutes is recommended, and the leaves can be steeped several times.

A no-nonsense Oriental Beauty. It is good, but it doesn't stand out from others I tried (e.g. Dragon Tea House premium one). Still, good choice for those who love it.

I am sorry to say, I am somewhat disappointed by the quality of this tea. It is by far not what I had expected. Aroma and flavor are very mild compared with Bai Hao tea I had from another source.

I received the Bai Hao and, like the Mt. Li, it is out of this world.

It is a wonderful tea, the liquor is very reddish dark in color and the taste is like no other Oolong I've ever tasted. The post-infused leaves are also very red/orange in color and the leaves are thinner and a bit smaller than an Oolong like say DongDing.
